There’s no telling what you might or might not find there. Try looking for the distinctive TY packaging, which is the large round spin-off nut on the top-outside of the 50-ct spindle-box.
Any Fuji media is good, it that’s available.

well rare HP cds use TY, i picked them up about 2 years back… the HP 24x are made by TY but you don’t get them here anymore :frowning:

here the ATIP from the old ones:
Brand: HP (no rated speed)

This Disc is designed for CD-RW/COMBO Drive Only.
Disc Type, Material = CD-R, Cyanine
ATIP Lead-in = 97m 24s 01f
Norminal Capacity = 656.40MB (74m 43s 00f)
Disc Manufacturer maybe = Taiyoyuden DX-dye
SMART-BURN Speed Limit = 16X

You could look for Verbatim DataLife CD-Rs.
When they are “Made in Japan”, they are most likely made by Taiyo Yuden.

I just purchased these discs in slim cases, rated at 32x :smiley:

@WebTech Inc

At what price did you buy those ???

@rdgrimes

Could you give me a link to a graphic, so that i can see the distinctive packaging.

The spin-off top nut can be black or white depending onthe brand labeling.

Thanks rdgrimes.

I’ll check the Fujifilm media for availability.

Nopes Darshan,not gonna happen.I’ve been checking all over Bombay for this media,haven’t found it anywhere. Closest I got was some Sammys, which are Riteks (2nd best right?)

I’ve bought the Verbatims, made by Taiyo Yuden,
at a local Staples shop for €10.99 / 25 pieces :bigsmile:

That’s about US$ 0.44 for each disc (in a slim case) :smiley:

@Bhairav

Thanks for the tip. still it will be worth trying to find those.

@WebTech Inc

Thanks for letting me know the price.

@WebTech Inc

Is there any special casing for those Verbatims made by Taiyo Yuden or is it pure luck ???

I have found a dealer in Bombay(Mumbai) who sells verbatims.

I’d like to try these.

Where’s this Verbatim guy?
“verbatim datalife plus cdr-80/74”, these are most probably Riteks or TYs.
The rest are most likely CMCs

Just found a Fujifilm dealer is Bombay.

Haven’t contacted him yet.

Here is his info.

The only way to find out is to look at the “Made in …” that you can find on every Verbatim CD-R box.

All Verbatims DataLife (not the PLUS ones) I have seen so far were Made in Taiwan, India and Ireland.
But at Staples I noticed the “Made in Japan” on the carton boxes where the 25pcs units were packed in (it was a whole pallet). So I took a closer look at these discs.

So, I think, it was pure luck, especially it was the first time I’ve been in a Staples shop :smiley:

You could also have a closer look at the
Philips Silver Premium CD-Rs

Some of them are also made by Taiyo Yuden. I’ve got some 16x.
Just look at the “Made in Japan”.

kinda tough to get ‘made in japan’ cd-rs here (india). there are truck loads of ‘made in taiwan’ tho… :frowning:

That’s

TY’s own brand…
