Which burner?

I am looking at buying a burner, and have the choice of a 4416 IDE Yamaha for $335 or a 6416 SCSI Yamaha for $298 (prices in Canadian dollars). For the latter I need a SCSI adaptor, and the same company has the Adaptec 2930U kit for $130. So the IDE is cheaper overall, and according to the main CD recorders page here can do DAE while the SCSI can't; but the SCSI can run at 6x and you can do something else while you burn. Does anyone have experience with both - it sounds like the SCSI should be better, but I'd like advice. Do you need special blank CDs to burn at 6x or just ordinary ones? Is anything much better than the Yamaha burners? Thanks for any advice, TomH
