Which BenQ is this?

Found this @ my friends company while he was repairing his Comp,i am confused which drive is this ,but a BenQ for sure :iagree:

Even Though the Label says 1640,but the Firmware does seem no where related to 1640

Pics:

hope alan, rolling or pinto or Zabadee or any of the BenQ Experts crack this :iagree:

Go to the Benq are vanishing post below and start near the bottom of the page.

May be a connection.

It is a BenQ DW1670 OEM, even when the label tells you it is a DW1640. Have a look here: http://club.cdfreaks.com/f92/benq-dw1670-sony-dru-820a-i-o-magic-dw1670-oem-crossflash-180271/

I believe ala42 is correct. The 16X8X5 is a giveaway to me. 5X RAM writing.

This is a Lite-On plot.
(Lite-On nowdays owning BenQ opticals brand wanna spoil DW1640’s highly respected reputation.)

Good to know none of existing “BenQ” flashers will be able to flash a DW1640 firmware on this drive…

BTW, ofcourse ala42 is right. :iagree:

It is still a real BenQ, not a lite-on. I think it use Panasonic chip.
