Which 4x DVD-R to use for 8x burning

Hi,

I am new to this board.

I just bought a Plextor PX-708a and having some problems finding 4x DVD-R which can be used to burn at 8x.

Anyone has any experience or good suggestions to which brand to buy?

So far I used Arita without much success.

Thanks!

the PX-708A can write at 8X only on some DVD+R media and not DVD-R media.

writer’s specifications :

Writing DVD+R: 8x
DVD-R: 4x
CD-R: 40x
Rewriting DVD+RW: 4x
DVD-RW: 2x
CD-RW: 24x

CD-ROM: 40x

Sorry typo. Meant to say 8x DVD+R Media.

Any idea?

… I use TDK, Philips (RICOHJPN) and Verbatim (MCC) 4x certified, and everything works fine, burned 8x by the 708A …

. . I recommend to use quality discs and it will be no more problem

so far,i only used Sony DVD+R (RICOHJPN) and Plextor DVD+R (Taiyo Yuden).

they both work @ 8X ( TY slows down sometimes )

check the Recommended DVD+R Recording Media here
