Which 16x DVD+R? DAXON-AZ3 or CMC MAG-M01?

My local Bestbuy has TDK 16x DVD+R Media on sale, and they come in both Made in Malaysia and Made in Taiwan.

The made in Malaysia media is apparently the following code:

Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD+R: DAXON-AZ3-000]

Disc & Book Type : [DVD+R] - [Not Available]
Manufacturer Name : [Daxon Technology Inc.]
Manufacturer ID : [DAXON]
Media Type ID : [AZ3]

The Made is Taiwan is:
Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD+R: CMC MAG-M01-000]

Disc & Book Type : [DVD+R] - [Not Available]
Manufacturer Name : [CMC Magnetics Corp.]
Manufacturer ID : [CMC MAG]
Media Type ID : [M01]

Which would you buy? They will be burnt with a Pioneer 111D.

Best Buy also has Verbatim on sale at this time, if they are still in stock. I picked up some Verbatim 16x +R MCC004 yesterday for a decent price. And I’d get them over either of the other choices.

There is a coupon available too. It should work with any blank media from Best Buy.

Can’t answer your original question though. Never used either mid code.

Both are not that Good , but my experince with DAXON AZ3 is way better

TDK doesn’t really exist anymore anyway as a media brand, it’s owned by Imation now, which would explain why it’s darn near impossible to find any discs that actually have a TDK MID.

I’d go with AZ3 over M01. M01 is tried and tested and all results point to mediocre media - even in professional scanning tests.

You can get lucky with Daxon AZ3. Just burn @ 8x and it should be fine.
