Lately I went to make a copy of files on my computer for archival purposes, mostly pictures. I loaded the free Nero that came with my drive and was dismayed to see that I am now forced to let Nero add in/phone home or whatever...DRM stuff. If they have the right to look at what you have on your computer, then they can collect data on you and that is spying!
Older versions of Nero never demanded this.
Would someone please let me know if there is an easy answer to finding software (and now I see that it's built into hardware) that simply lets me write my own files to CD for archival purposes, without being attached to the net, and without anything else added or subtracted, modified, destroyed, altered, tattled, re-arranged, re-codified or whatever.
Thank you all...It seems that this is the last "Fort" of resistance to the ever-encroaching DRM demons.
