Any ideas? I need one as a replacement. Board that was in use with an MSI Neo4. Newegg, TigerDirect and ZZF have nothing.
Check the “Open Box” section of Newegg a few times a day. Every so often they have socket 939 motherboards there. Plus, there is always ebay if you feel lucky.
A new socket 939 board is very, very, very, hard to find these days unless you
get really lucky or do as UTR said and check on ebay. Just about every place
online has moved their new stock to AM2/AM2+ boards so in all reality socket
939 is just plain old dead.
I think you will come out ahead just get a new or open box AM2 board and chip …under $120
thanks for the heads up. I was hoping to save a customer’s current install.
good luck with finding the mobo. that is the socket that i am still using. it is hanging in there. i will move to AM2 soon. but as for right now, hehe, socket939 it is.

Says Opteron, might want to verify for Athlon.

And then eBay.
I’m using the non-extreme version of this board, Nforce4 chipset, good oc’ing options. $119.
Here is one at Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130502R You had better act fast or it will be gone soon.
If you can find such motherboard, then I have good news for you. Frys Electronics have the X2 3800+ retail for $15. Opteron 175 and 180 for $15 and $20 respectively at Frys Electronics. Why so cheap?? they are on clearance
Argh. I just missed the newegg board.

Probably an in store only deal and the closest fry’s to me in in Ga. several hundred
miles away from me or I would grab a bunch of those 175 and 180 Oppty’s at that
price but it’s just to far to drive for some CPU’s.
