Where to buy GENUINE TYG02/YUDEN000T02 media?

I have searched but cannot find a definitive answer on where to purchase genuine unbranded YUDEN T02 / (TYG02?) media here in the US. Can someone provide a link or a vendor, thanks.

Is this genuine YUDEN 02?

the TY that is called "Silver Inkjet Printable"-- what kind of surface is that? is that a shiny (bad for fingerprints) or a matte finish?

I see the normal stuff is called "silver Lacquer / shiny" which would seem to be really bad for fingerprints. Can anyone tell me if this finish is as bad as the shiny Ritek's for attracting fingerprints?

Shiny silver and silver lacquer are the same. Yes, that's the surface that attracts dust and fingerprints from miles away. There is no matte finish for TY unfortunately, so to avoid the dust problem it's either branded TY (Sony, Fuji, TDK, JVC, Panasonic etc) or inkjet printable TY discs. TYG02 is 8x DVD-R while YUDEN000T02 is 8x DVD+R.

hmm that sux I wonder why TY doesnt make a nice silver matte version.. oh well... do any of those "branded" TY discs have no markings on them? Or very light/small markings?

Or, is there any other good media that comes in a silver matte that would be better than the Ritek G04/G05 and be anywhere close to the TY quality?

The Sony-branded TY discs have a pearly white surface, and plenty of room to write on, as do the TDK-branded and Panasonic-branded ones. All the branded media has some markings on them, but Fujifilm is the worst in terms of space to write.

would those sony's look nasty with a Dymo CD label stuck to them? (those are the 2.5" diameter labels that are centered around the hub of the disc if you havent seen them)

maybe i will try the TY inkjet printables
has anyone had problems with them as far as absorbing humidity, degrading etc vs. the silver ones?

TYG-02 is dash format and Yuden000T02 is plus format both 8x.

I don't think any retail chains carry unbranded TY discs. Maybe there are some specialty DVD/video production shops that have printable TY discs.

I am aware of that. I get the unbranded TY inkjet printables from Rima. What I was wondering about is if Sony or some other brand is OEM TY and inkjet printable or if i will have to buy strictly online?

OK I have f----in had it with RITEK G05. After reading post after post about degredation and staring at my racks full of years worth of collecting on RITEK (well over 1000 discs) I am ready to cry.

So I begin the exodus and migration over to TY media. I have purchased a EPSON R300 to print from now on instead of using DYMO labels, and will be using the Patricia Nomick's spray or something like it to seal from moisture.

I have purchased a BENQ DW1640 and now the only question that remains is which TY media to buy? I am leaning towards the TYG02 (8X white printable -R) is that the best to use? Or is the +R better?

Also last question, why do these discs cost $0.58 from Rima.com and only $0.31 from Meritline? Are the Meritline's fakes? I am very worried about fake TY media.

Is THIS the same as THIS? please if you have time, seeking some answers thx

The "High Quality" media you linked to on Meritline isn't manufactured by Taiyo Yuden; it just has a TY media code. This is the same as the Rima product.

For a while I thought that all I had to do was stay away from fake Yuden000 T02 and when I bought Fuji Yuden000 T02 I thought they were pretty good.
Then I bought the real thing - japanese labels and all - a there is a difference.
Today I tried Verbatim Yuden000 T02 ( pastel) and while they are not bad I won't be buying any more. So if you want the best Yuden000T02 I think you have to buy the original and not something made by someone else.

The Fuji and Verbatim discs aren't made by anyone else; they are Taiyo Yuden media, they're just branded by Fuji and Verbatim, respectively. It does seem like the unbranded TY media (or TY's own brand, "That's") is better but that's probably just due to how the other companies handle/package the discs.

I am not sure how the 1640 does with TYG02 but my 1620 does much better with YUDEN 000 T02 (+R). I get these from Allmediaoutlet.com sold as Burnmaster. It is genuine TY but not printable.

well that sux I just bought 200 TYG02s. Well hope the 1640 does ok with them. I can try turning WOPC on or off to see if it makes a difference. Damn why is it so hard to get a DVD burned these days

From what I'm reading and my own experiences it would appear that all Taiyos are not created equal. Two degrees says that my Fuji and verbatim disks are made by taiyo -- but for me they do not burn as well. With my BenQ1640 Yuden000 TO2 solid activated I always get 99% and PIF total below 100. Fuji verbatim and even TYG02 not quite so good ( 97%, 350 PIF ) not that these differences really matter.
