Where Is my weak link?

I would very much appreciate advice on my problem.
I have been utilizing the following software and hardware
for burning backup copies of movies which I have purchased.
DVD Burner _NEC DVD±RW ND6500A 2.22
Any DVD (SlyFox) 54.1.1
DVD Shrink 3.2 (re-author main title only)
1 Click 4.2
Blanks Phillips DVD+r 4.7G

I have burned several copies which have played great on my home
DVD player. Last night I played a copy on another DVD player (Sony all)
and glitches throughout the feature.
I thought I had the the perfect combination, not!
Where is my weak link???

Welcome randoozle. 99% of the time the weak link is media. Often different media agrees with different standalone DVD Players. I’m not sure but you maybe able to Bitset the booktype to DVD-ROM to increase compatibility. Download this:DVD Identifier and post back the MID/Manufacturer of your disc’s. You’ll have to place the disc in the Writer as most readers dont read MID’s.

Every time i’ve encountered glitches, its because i burned the movie too fast. First slow down the speed, then try a different media. I try to use Fujis that are made in Japan which are usually Taiyo Yuden. On 8x media i can burn at 16x with no problems.

CMC is Garbage media. Try Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, TDK or any other MID a cd freak recommends.

Verbatims that are Made in Singapore seem to yield great results for me. They are manufactured by MCC and are among the best Verbatims available (well, I read that here anyway).
