A few months ago I actually found the old paper label Verbatim 50 packs in an OfficeMax and stupidly only bought one.

The new plastic label Verbatim from india is such horrible quality and obviously not the same disks at all. In fact I cannot find any other brand today that works as well as the old Verbatim.

But officemax doesn’t have the paper label anymore!

Anyone know of a store/vendor/whatever with the old paper label?

This is the “new” poor quality verbatim plastic label:

This is the “old” high quality verbatim paper label packaging:

They are long gone sorry to say. You might find some on eBay.

I’ve had some really good results from Verbatim 16x DVD+R in the “new” label, even made in India. Sounds like you were just unfortunate to get a spindle that wasn’t good quality.

My benq 1650 completely chokes on the India media and is as smooth as butter on the old Singapore stock.

I’ve tried the india media six months apart from two different vendors.

And the India media cannot overburn, not even a few megabyes, they figured out how to reduce their costs I guess and not coat the extra mm or two with dye.

I can overburn to 4615mb on the old Singapore media. It was as good as TY media at half the price.

I will really miss it. Not ready for bluray just yet.

Completely struck out on ebay, contacted a dozen vendors with the old photo and they just have not updated it to match their new stock (india).

The so-called “new” label is several years old. The old media has been long gone, unless it pops out from under a magic rock like you got lucky to discover.

How you could have not bought all of it on the spot is insane. People were buying the old media up on eBay SEVERAL YEARS AGO, when it was originally discontinued.

I guess because I still saw it in local stores up to early this year I didn’t think about lack of supply.

Really stuck now trying to find a substitute. Any other suggestions? I’ve tried Sony and it was also useless.
