WhatsApp just enabled end-to-end encryption for everyone

WhatsApp today told Wired it switched to full end-to-end encryption. This means that messages, phone calls, video and photo’s can only be accessed by the sender and receiver.

A win for privacy and freedom and a setback for the NSA and FBI spies and data collectors.

Not even a mention that this was catalyzed by the FBI’s attempts to coerce Apple into facilitating the hacking of own encryption  ?Â


And this time they have included even iOS? And it is no double endpoint, user-facebook-user? :bigsmile:


I’m sure this “end-to-end” encryption is indeed user-Facebook-user. After all, has Facebook ever been known to respect its users’ privacy? I think not.
