What's The Strangest Conveyance You Have Ever Seen?

Every day someone comes up with something novel, goofy or practicle even, to move from place to place. What’s the strangest way you’ve seen to do that?

I’ll start it off:

You remember the newspaper comic called “B.C.”? You remember how they would ride around on nothing more than a stone wheel with a piece of wood going through it? Well, that has come to pass (sort of):

Ok I’ll bite there has to be something strange here

#3

Very cool. I didn’t know the mono-wheel “motorcycles” were around that far back. Good find.

This one is such a good idea that I’m surprised it’s not in use today. It can clearly do things that nothing else can do:

I remember this man riding this bicycle up & down the main drag(Polk ST.) in Amarillo when I was a teen. I think he built several but this is the only picture of him I could fine on the Internet. I never knew of him to fall but stopping in an emergency probably would have been a problem.

Just too cool. WE had one of those in my area when I was a teen, too. He made it himself as well. Never knew anything about him other than we would see him go by from time to time (probably searching for a place to “land”).

Check this out:

Isn’t that sweet? :iagree:

…and on the other end of the spectrum, we have this:

Redneck GoCart

Yeah, since no one seemed to like this thread, since I didn’t want to waste the effort, I decided to just dump them all in. I was talking about much more than “art cars” montages (if the topic was art cars, I would go to “Burning Man”).

You should look up some of the stranger trucks and planes and snow cats the Russians made. They had a screw drive truck they were trying or built for a while that uses the same idea as that ford tractor you posted too.

A few more:

This design would be interesting scaled up to a size that would transport a person:

This one has some very innovative engineering and some great capabilities:

Good idea too, I enjoyed watching those.

Oh, that reminds me of that semi-plane-boat monster thing they were building. It always reminded me of Howard Hughs and his Spruce Goose (belongs here, too).

Here’s one I forgot to include:

I’d love to have one of these.
