I have tried Cinema Craft Encoder (via The FilmMachine) and ConvertXtoDVD, my question is CCE can take 6hrs to encode whist ConvertX just over an hour, am I getting any more from CCE than ConvertX, ?
CCE decompresses & then re-encodes to a new MPEG stream resulting in higher quality video.ConvertX just re-encodes/ compresses the keyframes, hence degrading quality significantly.
So patience is a virtue. Thanks debro
If you download DVD2SVCD it does much the same as TFM but includes a front end ,D2sRoba, that samples the video & gives the equivalent (in quality terms) of 3 or 4 passes of CCE using CCE.
