I’m replacing my Plextor PX-716A. I’m looking for a new drive that has the best compatibility with most blank media.
As there are MANY other threads devoted to this exact, yet simple question – there is no really simple answer. Have you done many searches though?
Based off of CDFreak’s TOP 5 Drives For Spring of 2007 your best bet (for compatibility purposes) is prolly gonna be the
but in no particular order of course.
Read up on the reviews for them… they’re full of information!
I would say the Pio 111
I can’t hear BenQ anymore. The BenQs are mostly old hats and very overrated, as Dee put it.
I would maybe recommend: LG GSA-H22N (and its successors), LiteOn LH-20A1P (chances are that some firmware upgrades may fix the bugs) - or maybe even the Pioneer 112 (but not the 111 anymore).
The 716s were very good drives, I just got one a few days ago
Maybe I’ll get another one.
is the Lite-On LH-20A1P better than LG GSA-H22N? or is it too early to say for the lite on considering firmwares etc?
This depends on what you want to do.
If you want just burning, then the LG GSA-H22N is ok.
If you want quality scanning, learning mode, and stuff to play with, the LiteOn A1 series will be more fun for you.
