Your problem seems to be related with the quality of burning, given the fact that the original video files are of good quality. You are using MCC004 media, generally speaking Mits. Chem. media are good media, nevertheless i have no personal experience with them, so a search on the media forum will give you more info. I am also not familiar with the drive you are using.

In general, you could try updating the firmware of your drive to the latest if available, and try also try using different media.

over NERO FAILING to put ALL moivies on DVD. 3 /5 movies played. 2 were fine, 1 skipped alot

I assume these ‘movies’ are AVIs of some type? It’s not unusual, depending on where you got them, that some won’t work. One size does not fit all.

Get ImgBurn (free) and try another burn to see if it’s a Nero problem.

Pop in a disc and from EZ picker choose ‘Write files/folders to disc’, drag/drop your files and see what happens. It could also be your burner as was noted.

Read up here.

You are using MCC004 media…Do you mean the DVD? It is Verbatum DVD+R 4.7, 16X, 120 min. Drive meaning my burner. maybe you are getting all that info from the log?

Now this will sound stupid, but image burn will allow me to burn 4-5 movies? And yes, they are AVI. I ask this because windows movie maker will only allow one movie to be burned…and someone said, “Get nero”…and so i don’t know of other programs that will allow me to play a DVD with 4-5 movies on my DIVX player. Thanks, I will try it!!!

ImgBurn allow to burn as many movies you want on the disc, the only limitation is the disc size. I mean that you can burn only 4.2 GB of files on a single layer DVD, or 700 MB on a CD, etc.

The problem with Nero, probably, is that it try to convert the avi into VOB files, so only 1-2 movies can be burned on a single layer disc.

btw all burning applications will let you burn as many avis as you want to a dvd, as long as they fit into it. Now if you want these avis to be playable on a standalone dvd player, then it is another thing, since not only burning is required, but also recoding the avis into vob files.

This can be done by a bunch of software, my personal favorite is ConvertXtoDVD. It can also burn the final files onto a dvd.

Thanks To YOU ALL. I downloaded a smaller movie 1.34 GB and a different movie for ths other one that skipped and ALL WAS PERFECT!!! ALL: 5 MOVIES BURNED PERFECTLY…I cannot thank you enough for all of your help…And i am sorry if I have been posting in the wrong area. I do not know what PM means…but that’s ok…I will try not to bother you all again…

Thanks…Image burn kicked all of the files out ( even the 3 good ones)“doesn’t recognize format” but that’s ok because nero has burned them all perfectly as you probably noted in my other replies. Thanks for your help!!!

I wish I hadn’t read this…Are you saying that if I do more stuff like decoding, etc. I can put 5 movies on one DVD and the DVD will play on other people’s normal DVD players? You see, I am going to Buffalo next week and plan to stop by Sam’s and buy both families a samsung DIXV player so they can play the one’s I make. By then. I will have bought 5 players!!! Maybe I just misunderstood…You are too smart for me…Thanks for all of your help. Any great ideas in the future would be greatly appreciated.

Yep you can do it, maybe not 5 but 2-3 movies can fit in one dvd with maybe some loss of quality (i can live with it on a 40’ plasma tv) by using convertxtodvd (and possibly other software, but i am using that). You need nothing else, just this program, you only drag and drop the avi files and the subtitles (if available) and it does the rest.

Also note with Nero you can try ticking this option with DATA DVDs.

Thank YOU.Thank YOU…Thank YOU…Also, do I dare mention that someone said in passing…one can put movies on CD’s…??? Before I think about that…When I am burning my 5 movies on to a DVD, are they in reality “ISO” files? Now, When I burn on Nero, I go to DATA DVD. If I put this DATA on CD’s, will they play as movies? And why would I want to do that?? Sorry for all of the questions. It’s just that you ALL have been so nice to help someone who lacvks so musc knowledge. I realize it is frustrating to try to explain things that seem so simple to people like YOU!!!
