What the near future holds for Nexperia & SolidBurn related technologies?

OK, BenQ seems to be over, at least in the optical drives market. So far Philips with its SolidBurn technology started making full use of its Nexperia chip, a trend that continued with BenQ and LiteOn doing the same. With the forthcoming advent of Blue Ray/HD DVD it’s obvious what everyone is currently concentrated upon… But what about the Nexperia chip itself, does anyone know what kind of development takes place at present? Will any of the future Blue Ray drives feature any similar technology to SolidBurn? I Googled for some answers, but the results are very generic (e.g refering to Nexperia chips for HDTV and other non-optical drive related technologies) and most pages are pretty old…

I thought Lite-On switched to Panasonic or something, didn’t they?

I’ve heard that to, so the future don’t look good for the philips chipset… unless they create a brand new one with similar features for Blu Ray drives…
