Also single layer too.

You are almost guaranteed not to find any Taiyo Yuden DVDs in bricks and mortar stores, unless you live in Japan.

Also you need to tell us where in the world you live - there are good online shops in the US for Americans, and there are some good European shops for Europeans, but generally speaking, it would be a mistake to recommend an American shop to a European or, more particularly, vice versa.

Thirdly, for Dual Layer, you are better off using Verbatim only, for a number of reasons:

[ol]
[li]Much more widely available in the Western world - “That’s” DL media does sometimes sell from time to time at Nikoneko Ya, but not at the moment. Even when they do, it is rather expensive.
[/li]http://stores.ebay.com/nikoneko-Ya
[li]Poor firmware support: Only my newest NEC/Optiarc burns TYG11. My Nexperia BenQ DW1640 and NEC ND3550A both balked at these, as I assume most other drives, particularly older ones will.
[/li][li]Digital Rights Management: Most of the -R DL media being sold by Nikonekobaby is CPRM “enabled.” It’s probably not a big deal especially for data burns, but whenever I see anything to do with media restrictions, I usually get the urge to do a 4 minute mile in the other direction.
[/li]
It should be pointed out that no DVD+R, +RW, or +R DL is capable of doing CPRM, and the other good DL makers Verbatim and Falcon seem to specialise in +R DL, unline Taiyo Yuden who only do -R DL[/ol]

For Single Layer its much more straightforward and anyone here can point you to a good source - if we know where you are.

I’m in the US. Thanks!

I’m surprised none of our American members have posted here yet, so I will do what I can:

Sean, I’m from Europea (The Netherlands more precisely).

Do you know where to buy online Verbatim DVD+R/W/DL with the possibility to buy through iDeal in Europe?

sorry, I’m not familiar with iDeal.

POOD… Taiyo Yuden DOES NOT make Dual Layer DVDs.

I would highly recommend using FALCON brand DVD+R DL discs. I have burned over 100 discs so far with not a single coaster! They burn at 8X and absolutely burn great!

I would recommend you purchase them online at CD Dimensions. They’re having a sale right now for $1.22 per disc with FREE SHIPPING!

They only catch is you must order them in 50 piece cake box lots. Minimum order is: 50 pcs.

Here is the URL to the web page at CD Dimensions:

Believe me… you will not regret buying these VERY HIGH QUALITY discs. They get rave reviews.
