I own the above drive with firmware BS0S. I know that most lite-ons work well under DVD+R media. But i don't really know what dye is worth using. I did find that using these was very good with the kids films that i have backed up. But since ebuyer don't have anymore i was looking at theseAre these anygood?. What other media works well with my lite-on
The 1633S is not really that great as a burner to begin with. This drive's main purpose is a ripper and a kProbe scanner. Even excellent media like MCC or TY does not burn that well in it compared to NEC or BenQ. That is why I sold mine and now use the BenQ as a scanner. Therefore I recommend you stick to 'middle quality' DVDR.
thanks for the info, but id still like to know if these are good discs http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=4658941887&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X3Jldmlld3M=&product_uid=77532
I have never used Verbatim thats all. These discs are mainly for DVD backups.
Yes, Verbatim DLP 8x DVD+R (MCC003) are good discs, but often a disc is only as good as the write strategy of the drive it's being burned on. I'd get a 5 pack or so to test before investing in a full spindle.
according to http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=103664TY media and RICOH are the best. I have a Sony DRU700A (rebadged Lite-on 832S) and I get excellent results on TY01 media - I bought TY01 as well as samsung DVD+R (which was also TY01) fromwww.rima.com
CMC media works great when using the Memorex BWSE firmware.
