Get used to using more than one software in order to get the job done. Sometimes one software will have problems with a particular DVD in a compressed or uncompressed backup, so you will need to try it with another tool.
Try dvdshrink and dvd decrypter. The best price/performance ratio around.
DVDFab Platinum works for me…
Don’t know how it compares to the others though, but it does the trick for me.
If you do a lot of transcoding give Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD a try, as far as quality goes NeroVision Express and CloneDVD can’t beat it.
I use a combo of anyDVD ($39 from www.slysoft.com) and a cheapo copy of InterVideo DVD copy ($11 from www.ussa.com) and get very good burns every time (no coasters yet from good media like Ritek, Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim and Maxell) and have done 100’s of burns with this combo - movie pops out in 30 - 40 minutes - depending on size - and have never had a movie that would not fit onto one disc - all this with only one click - life is good-
