What is the advantage of updaing firmware if everything is working fine?

Hi…

wow Thanks for answering all my qustions. I have leaned a lot here.

Now.I am told my firware is old (YSOG) on a 1635 drive. What is the advantage of updaing firmware if everything is working fine?

TIA as always,
woddy

Sometimes existing write strategies are improved…support for newer media…

There’s probably other stuff, but that’s all I can think of.

There was a big problem with burning -R media and RW with your firmware.
Adds support for HT, OHT, and overspeed burning of media(you can burn 8X media at 12X). Your firmware IS very old.
The YSOZ firmware makes the 1635 a great perfomer. Use Codekings patched FB for best results.

Hi,

What has been patched with that version? as far as I know, there is only the hardware query that was disabled allowing crossflashing or going back to a previous version (provided there is a patched “flashfixed” version of that)

Michael

Ok thanks…I undertood all that,. but I got lost with Michael post.

I also see that lite on has the firmware.

Thank you,
woody…how can I changed this stupid name that I spelled wrong…should be woddy.

If you post here in this thread, and ask Da_Taxman nicely , he might change it for you

Make sure you ask for Woody and not Woddy

FB=Fast Burn, see the thread.
