What is so different about 4x -R that Liteon cant burn it?

MBI 4X DVD-R written at 2X… If they can get a disk quality of 90 then they should at least be able to burn the disk at the speed it is rated at. I am not talking about unable to burn it a little bit, It trashes the disk. Tried with many but the worst difference I found was with MBI media. On others the 4X -R burn quality is much lower.

Those results are hard to understand. Use KProbe and scan at 4x.

Most likely, the problem is that the drive’s 4x write strat for this media is broken while the 2x strat is working okay.

For some reason Nero CD/DVD speed does not save the screen properly. But the numbers are similar… I can barely see the Kprobe screen, its purple makes it almost impossible to read the text it prints or the options. Black on purple is not very pleasing on the eyes. But this is not just using MBI media… Sony, Samsung, LG and others all failed @ 4X, For some reason +R media is not widly available, Seen only 1 and that was TDK and for 3 months they ran out of them completely. These media costs what my wife makes in a day so I am not going to be testing a lot.
