What is my mobo's chipset no.?

Hi all. i recently got this motherboard, but what is it’s chipset model number (which i need to know to get drivers etc.)?

On the link there seem to be 2:

[ul][li]VIA VT82C694T
[/li]> [li]VIA VT82C686B
[/li]> [/ul]

Are they the northbridge + southbridge chipset model numbers?

what is northbridge + southbridge?

([ btw, has anyone got any comments on this motherboard / chipset ])

go to via’s web site (or gigabytes) and dl the latest 4in1 drivers. via has unified drivers, so should work with any of their chipsets:)

Wow - so if i just go here , download the “Latest VIA 4in1 Drivers” and install them it would work as long as my mobo chip set is via?!

What are the ‘4’ in the 1 download?

I dont think the 4in1 driver will get me latest drivers for everything (eg: on board audio).

What about this:

TIA

The northbridge basicly controls your cpu, memory and graphics. The southbridge everything else including audio. The two chips are linked together with v-link hub. Go here for a diagram. As for the 4 in 1 drivers just follow through on the link you posted and it explains what is in drivers.
