Some time ago I saw this new technology coming. Laser-TV has some benefits over the plasma and LCD HD-TVs. It's specs are pretty impressive and the first one (Mitsubishi LaserVue) is already on the market.
- it can display more than 90% of the for a human visible color spectrum (current HD-TVs can only display up to 45% of the spectrum)
- because of the laser light it can produce a lighter and sharper picture
- compared to current Plasma TVs, Laser-TV requires approximately 66% less energy
- longer lifetime
- it's much cheaper in production than current HD TVs
if there are cons for me then it's that till now there are only 2 models available yet, a 65" and 73" Mitsubishi LaserVue. The 65" version is at u$ 6999 at the moment.
However, I think when there are smaller and cheaper models available the it will become a real alternative to LCD and Plasma HD-TV.

I wonder what others think since I really have the intention to wait before I buy a new TV set.
