I have read some of the other threads on the subject, but none seem to nail it. I have spent the last day trying out various settings to get the "perfect" mix of file size, quality and rip time, but I was wondering if anyone with a similar goal has already achieved this?
So far I have settled on ipod.mpeg4 and other than the resultant 2GB file size for the movie, it looks and sounds great! I had the settings all maxxed with 2 pass, 1500fps, 128k audio but lowered the picture size to 640x480, since that is the most my iPod can handle.
Here are just a few of my questions (feel free to pass any advice along though)
Will 1 pass have close quality and cut the rip time in half?
Does 2 pass make that big a difference in clarity?
What would be the lowest fps and still maintain reasonable picture quality? (768fps at 320x240 is definately to fuzzy)
Does sound kbps make a very noticable difference in the file size or is it really mostly about the picture?
