What am I doing wrong with Nero 6 (VCD)?

Hi.

I burned my first VCD yesterday and it WILL play in my DVD player…but only sort of.

The menu isn’t cooperating. I’d assumed it would be interactive like a regular DVD menu, but none of my arrow controls highlight any of the menu selections. As long as the menu is up, none of the controls work except for “program”.

Going into the program screen, I can set the three tracks on the disc to play, and play it will, but only then.

If I try to use the neat menu I designed…NOTHING.

The Nero setup had even asked me if I wanted to start with the menu or go right into the first chapter/track. I said “menu”.

Now I wish I hadn’t.

Was this a wrong assumption on my part? Are Nero VCD menus NOT interactive, and there only to provide info on using your DVD machine’s programming setup?

PS
If I shouldn’t post about VCD in this forum, pls. let me know. Thanks.

When i burn a vcd with Nero with a menu, i get numbered thumbnails menued. Getting to play the movie corresponding to each thumbnail involves pressing the corresponding number on my player’s remote control, navigational arrows dont work, sorry
