My experience is that most 16x media is worse than TYG02 (8x DVD-R), which is worse than my favourite TYG01 media.
TY02 (8x DVD+R) similarly. I missed out on the TY01's
TYG03 / TY03 have higher error rates on 4 different burners @ any of the standard speeds 16x, 12x, 8x or 4x compared to the TYG02 @ the same speed, excepting 16x.
MCC004 (16x DVD+R) has higher error rates at 16x and 12x than MCC003. 8x seems pretty much on par, but some standalones don't like MCC regardless.
MCC003 (8x DVD+R) burns better at any speed compared to the MCC004, even 16x, but are worse than the TYG02 at any speed.
I haven't tried 16x Sony's, or riteks (are these available?).
16x Media may be taking over from 8x (which took over 4x), but I don't think it is to our advantage.
