just like the tittle says, I just noticed a new LG 8x burner, WH08LS20, whats new?
Hard to say, tried downloading the spec sheet from LG's site and it downloads a LCD monitor spec sheet instead, go figure.
probably if you want a new firmware update from LG you need to buy new revision of the burner
No, you have to read the LG forum firmware announce thread. Goto http://www.lgservice.co.kr/SearchSddr.laf and type BH08 in the search field. The latest BH08 2.00 firmware contains these drive ids:
so the WH08LS20 is probably just a normal BH08 drive.
thanks again ala42!
didn't realized that they actually released something, does your magic utility still works with new firmware?
MCSE works with the 2.00 firmwares.
perfect, any media codes?
No new media codes compared to EL02-06.
These FW don't find any target drives for me. I have a LG BH08LS20 flashed with EL02-05 speedpatched FW. Why won't this new FW find any drives? The EL02 still finds both of my disc drives. Anyone use these new FW's yet?
i patched 2.00 and flashed perfectly fine. burned two disc and so far everything works
I have exactly the same problem! No drives are shown when starting the new 2.0 firmware. My drive is also flashed with a speedpatched EL02-05.
Updated to EL02-06 speedpatched.
Screen of 2.0 updater
Is EL02-06 the same as 2.0FW?
I'm using English Win 7. Booted to Vista, same blank target.
Could you please provide a link for the EL02-06 firmware? I'm having problems finding it..

Thanks alot :).
what is the date on el02-06?
2.00 is dated September 1st 2009
Thx that worked! I flashed to 1.0.Thought I tried that last night. I had the 1.0FW. I guess I didn't.
Had minor Windows problem after flashing 2.0 speedpatched After rebooting, drive was in device manager but no drive letter was assigned. There was no driver installed. I just uninstalled from DM and rescanned.
Also, after any FW I flash for this BH08, the system hangs when trying to reboot on Win7. Not a problem though.
Looks like 7/15/2009
The WH08LS20 and UH08LS10 have 4 MB buffer, while BH08LS20 and CH08LS10 have 2 MB buffer, see http://lgcommercial.com/product/WH08LS20/?division=&category=#features and http://lgcommercial.com/product/BH08LS20/?division=&category=#features.
