Weird Problem with the HL-DT-ST GSA 4120B

Hi there. This is my first time isntalling a DVD burner.
Anyways, after I installed the HL-DT-ST GSA 4120B DVD Burner, Ive been having this weird problem.
Whenever I load Battlefield 1942 (A game) My computer restarts. Ive tried updating drivers but nuttin.
This never happend before i installed the burner. But right after i installed it, it began to restart.

Windows XP Pro
Pentium 4 2Ghz
512 DDR
80Gb Hardrive

Hi…

i would try the following steps:

  1. Disconnect your burner and see if the problem is gone.
  2. If yes, connect the burner and disconnect your normal dvd/cd drive.

If the problem is now gone it might be
a) master/slave problem (both drives have same setting) or
b) power supply which is “on the edge” and with one more drive it’s overloaded if you need more power during playing games (due to graphic card).

But that are only “might be`s”.
