ok I got a sony dru 710a, it had the old firmware that came on it if you bought it around jan/feb. I flashed new firmware to it (the one before byxo3) and it still worked fine although I noticed it never recognized it in windows as a DVD-Rw drive, but everthing worked fine, it was just something I noticed, I recently put in the newer firmware from codekings site, byxo3, and when I booted up it recognized it as a dvd -RW in windows, but now its back to saying CDW drive and this time Dvd shrink doesent list it as an option as a backup target, shrink now just dumps the dvd to the hard disk and stops it wont spit anything back to the disc I am trying to back anything up on, how did THAT happen? it used to just automaticly know that I was trying to back up a dvd?!?!?!?!?!?! can I go back to the old firmware that worked? why does it only recognize it as a DVD-RW right after a flash and then not subsequently? why would the firmware change the way shrinks acts? why do I not have the choice of sending the files shrink creates to the DVD-R now? thanks.
