Hi to everyone!
Firstly, sorry for my little rusty english. I haven't practised a while...
Ok, I bought recently a brand new LG GSA-H10N DVD-writer. Since that, i've backupped some of my DVD movies with DVDShrink and burned them with ImgBurn. There has been no problems, disk's have been played well on my Pioneer standalone player and of course with LG.
Nero CD/DVD-speed transfer rate tests are fine, no read speed droppings or something like that.
So the DVD-videos are excellent, but how can i get a working normal Data DVD? It seems to be impossible. I have tried with Nero Burning Rom (ISO, ISO/UDF) and with the ImgBurn also. I've also tried to make image of my stuff (photos, small movie clips etc.) and burned image with ImgBurn, but no success.
The main problem is here:
Every time when i burn Data DVD, the results are quite similar. There is always nasty read speed drops at the end of the discs. There's also CRC errors almost every time in that drop spot. I've scanned CRC errors with CD/DVD-speed Surface Scan.
DVDInfoPro shows often 100-300 read errors.
My media is Verbatim DVD+R 16x, with MCC 004 media code, so shouldn't be bad? Burning speed have been 8x, sometimes 12x.
I've replaced 80-pin ATA ribbon cable, DMA is on, i've defragged my HDD recently and so on. No changes at all.
I don't understand why the errors are always almost the same position on in DVD. Something wrong with the DVD's?
Should i worry about those read speed drops, if there is no CRC-errors? Is the DVD useless if there is CRC-errors or Nero says "unrecovered read error". I've thrown those disk away, because i don't really trust them.
I don't understand anymore. Do you understand?
