WD hard disk problem

I have my WD external portable disk, when i try to copy a large file (4.37 GB) a message pops us saying there is no space for your hard disk, i know i have plenty of space

I tried to copy the same file to another hard disk and it worked!

IDK why this is happing i checked WD systam format and is was FAT 32 as for the other hard disk it was NTFS

Any suggestion how do i copy the file to my WD (500 GB) hard disk.

Fat 32 will not handle files over 4076 mb a tad over 4 gig so no it will not go on that drive.

To use you would have to reformat that drive.
That would wipe everything off that disc.

Does NTFS works with mac?

I believe there are some 3 rd party software to make it work, but Mac’s are not really my area.

Sorry I couldn’t help more

I found this

The problem is that there is currently no single file system which supports file sizes larger than 3.98 GB which is compatible with both Windows and Mac (at least not without requiring the installation of third-party drivers which may destabilize a system).

Do you use the drive with both PCs and Macs, or mostly Macs? If you use it mostly with Macs, then you can just format it as HFS+ and use something like HFSexplorer on the PC:
