ok I have been going insane trying to get some answers so hopefully someone here can help.
Here is what I have and what I am trying to do.
I have a PC with a AMD 2.0 Ghz CPU, with 1GB RAM, and an ATI Radeon 9200 SE AGP 128 MB video card. I have teh Catalyst Control Center, latest version and drivers installed, and have a 120 GB HDD Main, a 120GB HDD Slave and 2 USB 500GB HDD External drives.
What I am trying to do is watch some HD movies on my PC fairly decent. I usually download 720p videos mkv format most often in the h.264 codec but sometimes mp4.
Anyways some videos play just fine, others the voices are out of synch. I have spent quit a bit of time demuxing the audio from the video so I can down convert the AC3 files into MP3, which makes smaller file sizes and lower audio bitrates and then remux the audio and video together. Sometimes this fixes the audio synch issue other times it does not.
So what I want to know is what settings in the video card and PC do I need to adjust to get these videos to work properly? I gave up on even trying 1080p because the files are always too large and never work.
Um basically what I want to know is how do I optimize my GPU to help process the video better? The card is supposed to have MPEG2 decoding built in but I don't think that helps with HD videos much. Please if you can help me with this feel free to email me
