Warning! Do not use Napster! It gives access to your harddisk, like the programs Back Orifce and NetBus! Anybody can hack into your harddisk via Napster so watch out! It’s a damn trojan!

Yeah whatever, you can also hack a computer if it’s only running an O/S and you got an active internet connection, but you’re still using that right?

Every program is hackable…and btw, Win NT doesn’t help…

Ha! I’ve installed @guard, and I block every communication attempted via napster to my pc. So I can download, while nobody can download from my pc. http://fosi.ural.net

BTW everytime you connect to the internet with a Win95/98 computer you could be hacked.

Where did you get that info ? The only known “vulnerability” with NAPSTER is that you can see what someone’s IP address is (DUH… Just type netstat to see all active connections in windows).

Been using NAPSTER for months and haven’t had any problems. You can’t hack someones system with BO/netbus just because you run NAPSTER.

Sure, napster may have some as yet undocumented vulnerabilities, but as of yet nothing has been found. If you’re still paranoid (as you should be) just install a decent firewall (Blackice defender is a nice one)or use a real OS like linux.

Anyway, enought ranting for now.

I’m using BlackICE at home and would welcome some experienced people to see if they can get past it. It won’t even register as an active TCP/IP port on scans and probes. Got my copy from fosi. Haven’t tried @guard tho. Only problem is with BlackICE installed, I can never connect my ICQ. Oh well, NBD.

And people-go easy on the submit button as well as the back button!!!

Is cd-freaks having server problems or something, evertime I post something the cd-freaks page is stuck.

now again.

question how do you confige @tguard, when I’m using the firewall option (BO/Netbus) it is driving nuts.
