Wanted: virtual drive software

#1

Hi,

now I am looking for “the best” virtual drive software for my “netbook”.

Requirements:

[ul]
[li]must be free
[/li][li]must run on Win7 64bit
[/li][li]must have low system impact
[/li][li] must be reliable
[/li][/ul]
Not required at all:

[ul]
[li]support for copy protection stuff
[/li][/ul]

Any suggestions?
Is Virtual Clone Drive from Slysoft closest to my requirements list, or is there something better out there?

Thanks,
Michael

Not sure if it will meet your needs but you may want to look at DVDFab’s Virtual Drive it is freeware

Thanks for making my decision somewhat harder

Fab is under heavy development, as I have seen.
MagicIso is somewhat “new” to me.

What I need is stability.
A long feature list is not impressing me since I only intend to use some stupid, simple ISO images from data discs. These images are selfmade from discs I own.

I have had good results with Virtual Clone Drive from Slysoft .
I don’t know if it meets #2 in your list.
One feature I do like is it adds “close tray” to the r click of the hardware DVD drive.

This is off topic.
@cynthia_old , Would you be the same cynthia from the ImgBurn forum ?
If you are I have read some of your guides there.

No hope to test the free Alcohol version??

Michael, please post here your finding about the virtual drive software you choose.

I’m currently also looking for such software for my brand new Windows 7 Professional 64-bit desktop, and my needs are similar to yours.
