Want a pioneer i think

need a new sata dual layer burner

want a pioner but so many models really dont know which to choose?

its vital that it is good at burning dual layers with minimum problems;)

Go for the DVR-217. It’s as simple as that.

I just got a DVR-117 and it really sucks at dual layer discs. QS score of 0 when scaned with liteon IHAP 422. Same with a DL burn on the LG GH22lp. But real great on the BenQ 1640. These were Verbatim MKM001 discs.

Both vital questions to ask, because that’s rather contrary to what I’ve noticed other people saying. Maybe there’s a quirk I’ve missed, or maybe your drive is quirky.

I’d still set the OP up with an x17 series drive, since there’s not much else out there right now that will match it other than an Optiarc.

I don’t want to jump in on the OP thread. I’ll check them in the BenQ and start a new post. Thanks Albert.

DVR-217. If not, 216 and 215 are both good.

Just don’t get the 218L. :disagree:
