At almost $530 the Nexus sounds like a pretty expensive item to go to Walmart for. I’m sure it’s a great phone but all these fabulous electronic gadgets, like the Apple Tablet just released are not really very different in function and command exorbitant prices that are way out of most people’s pockets in this down and out economy.
I came to Walmart for savings on a cell phone and found it in the pre-paid Tracfone which usually retails for less than $15 bucks and provides 60 minutes of talk for only $20.
The truth is that with official unemployment at more than 11%, or 17% if you count the underemployed, not too many people are interested in wasting their oney on the latest gizmos… Tracfone is smart when a smart phone is not a priority.
Hi fonefatigue, welcome to MyCE
You sure have a good point. On the other hand, there is still 80% left, of which many just like to have new gadgets… the first movers
My husband is very excited about cell phones from google and is trying to decide between the Nexus and the Droid. Must be a guy thing cuz I can careless about all the little gadgets. I’m happy with my simple phone from StraighTalk especially at the price tag of $45/monthh for unlimited talking/texting which is what I use the phone for. And yes, $500 for a single item at WalMart seems like an oxymoron!
