VOB Movie clip to blank dvd

Hi every1

Ive got this movie clip(a friend of mines from his video camera of his family) in vob format without the vts files. Is there any way i can burn this on a blank dvd to make it play on a stand alone dvd player? Only PowerDVD plays this file, wmp cannot. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you:)

You can demux the VOB (I use PVAStrumento) and author the resulting M2V and M2A (I use IFO Edit, Author New DVD mode). There are a bunch of other tools and ways to do it, but those are the ones I use. Both are free.

No need for demuxing. Simply use IfoEdit’s CReate IFO function.

Regards

thank you for responding olyteddy & blutach:)

@olyteddy
the resultant files when demuxing with PVAStrumento are a mpv & ac3 files (no m2v & m2a files)

@blutach when i load vob file into ifoedit & press ok to create new ifo files a window pops up which says “could not find any VOB unit in VOB file(s)”. Weird cause it can locate vob file.
I am including a log file maybe that will help?

your help is appreciated:)

Your VOB is muxed incorrectly and has no navpacks. Demux it, if you can, and remux with muxman.

Regards

Wouldn’t simply renaming that VOB file as VTS_01_1.VOB make it processable with IFOEdit?

Maybe you could use TMPGEnc too (mpeg tools).

thanks a million blutach m8 that did the trick
much appreciated.
I actually used rejig instead of muxman.

Glad you got it sorted out cyspur…

@Blu, I’m just curious… what made you see that he needed to demux and remux?
I was still under the impression that simply renaming his ELIAS.VOB to VTS_01_1.VOB would have stopped that no VOB unit error in IFOEdit…?

No navpacks Mikey. Many cams have absolutely atrocious authoring software. So, you need the elementary streams and a grat muxer like muxman.
