Vista PIO Mode - RAID SATA

OK, so new computer…yeah me!
Only issue is I’m trying to backup some DVD using DVDFAB and it keeps failing. I’ve tried to reset the DMA but to no avail. Each time I reset it and reboot, DVD’s log file says it’s in PIO mode. I’ve check the BIOS and it is set to RAID. I tried to set it to IDE, but Windows would not start. So I placed it back into RIAD. Does anyone know of a fix or what I’m doing wrong. Here is the log file from DVDFAB. And Yes, I’ve already posted in their part of the forum and they told me to post here.

Can I revive this thread? I’m having the same problem.

I just set up a RAID1 using two drives, and so I set the configuration in BIOS to RAID mode. The drives connected in the SATA ports are two hard disks and my LG DVD Writer.

I’m pretty sure I’m not getting DMA enabled in this optical drive because a game install took way slower than usual (20 minutes as opposed to 5 mins when I was still in AHCI mode).

The Device Manager doesn’t have a “DMA Enable” option in the IDE Controllers anymore. I assume that is because my optical drive belongs to the RAID Controller now.

I use the Intel Matrix Storage Manager because my chipset is ICH9R. It’s the Intel DP35DPM motherboard.

Can anyone help?
