Wow, I’m shocked at this news. I thought the program had been abandoned years ago. That said, I’m kind of surprised it doesn’t have h.264 compatibility. AVI is an outdated format.

Not when you want and/or need to edit raw, uncompressed video.

I’d love to see VirtualDub support writing MKV files, as MKV supports everything AVI files are capable of, with some extra features of awesomeness.

However, since VDub uses outdated Video For Windows, the odds that VDub will write any other video container formats seems unlikely.

VDub ist still kick ass. Only those who have no clue can tell us “it’s outdated”.
