Write rate with a USB drive can vary depending on the chipset on your PC/laptop (and enclosure, if you have a drive in one).
With my Intel-chipset Dell, I can squeeze 12x out of my LG E10N, but on my other PC with an ATi chipset, I can only manage 8-9x.
What chipset does your laptop have? And do you have anything else plugged into the USB’s (or identified as USB devices in Devices Manager)?
Could be you’ll have to limit your burns to 8x, and be content with how it is currently, if burns are OK.
hmm only my mouse was plugged in,
could it be because the hard drive i copied it from is in the optical bay slot, perhaps in future i should use the 16mb buffer one?
im not bothered on speed, the dvd looks the same as the hard drive file, might go try it on the lcddown stairs, tho the resolution of my laptop is far better
chipset, well its a t7600g dual core, i think the actual chipset is 945 or something
