Ok, did a few tests with a sample MKV file (1080p/DTS/x264).
First, I notice there were 2 xvid.audiocopy choices under generic? (woot for avi audiocopy btw!)
Converting the 100mb sample above using both versions of generic.xvid.audiocopy created a 25mb file with no sound and no picture.
I did the same using generic.xvid.mp3 and this time I got a 38mb file with no picture, did get sound.
Converted the same again using xbox/wmv and got 38mb file with picture and sound (but only stereo and not 5.1).
I have used videofab in the past, so I uninstalled, cleared the folder and reinstalled, and still saw the dual xvid-audiocopy profiles and got the same results. xvid-mp3 use to work fine before (meaning I did get a picture+sound).
Oh, and ditto on the movefab request. Can we have an option to disable? I only convert for media extender reasons and not a mobile device.
Edit: When creating the WMV, videofab just hung at 100%. CPU dropped slightly but still consumed 25% or so on my quadcore. I had to hit cancel after a few mins.
Edit2: Ok, did some more tests on full movie mkv files, 1 DTS and 1 AC3, both produced picture but no sound (using divx-audiocopy). And both quit converting at < 1% done (videfab said Process Complete).
