Video Card

I have a dell 2.4 duo core with 4gb ram. I need a PCIE video card and know nothing about which cards are good or bad. I am looking for an economical card that will support some online game play, but does not need to be HD. Any ideas?

You should read the video card reviews at tomshardware.com and that will give you some ideas as to which video cards are recommended, and in what price range. If you aren’t doing hardcore gaming, you don’t need much. Even the ati 2600xt’s are going for around $50.00, and they do support HD (even though you didn’t need it), and can run most games, just fine. Geforce 8600 video cards would probably do well for you too.

I wouldn’t reccomend a 2600xt or 8600 card to anyone who wants to play games.

In addition to what dizzy suggested, but cheaper:
XFX GeForce 8800 GS XXX 384MB 192-bit GDDR3

and it plays every game on high settings that he has thrown at it . :iagree:

Foxconn 8600GTS

WELL! I got an ASUS GeForce 8600GT Silent 512MB DDR3 card n it’s BRILLIANT…Won’t play the TOP of The Range NEW Games…That’s Ruddy Obvious, but it plays Loads of them…Even Unreal Tournament, n others…
