I have been tasked at work with moving our VHS training tapes to DVDs. I'm using my MacBook Pro with Egalto's eyetv hybrid. It allows me to capture the coax from the VHS to my USB and saves the file as an .mpg
I've tried converting to many popular formats and burning them to DVD but the resulting disc will not play on the TV with the stand alone DVD player. Commercial DVDs that do play, all are video_TS/audio_TS files with .vob and .ifo files in them. I would guess that I need to convert my .mgp to a .vob type file. Do I need to build the two subdirectories and copy the files into them? I tried to figure this out on my own and downloaded ffmpegX but I don't see an option to convert to .vob (and how do the .ifo and .bup files then get created).
I know this is one of those "smack yourself in the forehead" moments when someone explains it but for the life of me, I'm frustrated right now.
There is no copy protection involved, original quality was average so the coax is fine and I am working in Mac OS X.
