G’day all,

At JB Hi-Fi in Australia, you can buy 10-packs of CONIA 40X 80min CD-R’s for A$3.80, or 5x10-packs for A$14.50. They are made by PNY Technologies, Inc., TAIWAN. They seem to be fairly reasonable in quality, with no C2-errors reported by CD Doctor.

Are you sure these are made by PNY? When PNY sold their brand of CD-R discs, I think they mostly used CMC. Didn’t know that PNY had their own CD-R factory.

These CD-R’s are branded CONIA and have a shiny silver printable surface. I’m 100% sure that they are NOT CMC discs. They don’t have the CMC-style serial numbers nor do they have the trademark markings on the metal surrounding the centre plastic hub.

By the way, JB Hi-Fi also have Verbatim DataLifePlus 1x-48x (Mitsubishi Super Azo), TDK 80min Audio (RiTEK Cyanine), Maxell 80min Audio (Hitachi Maxell), Verbatim Vinyl CD-R (Mitsubishi Metal Azo), Verbatim 80min Audio (Mitsubishi Metal Azo), Sony 700Mb 32x (Lead Data), TDK 1x-48x (RiTEK Phthalocyanine), TDK Gold (CMC), Pioneer 32x (CMC), LG 80min (Prodisc???), EMTEC 80min (MoserBaer), Verbatim 16x-24x CD-RW (Mitsubishi), Verbatim DataLife Spindle (CMC), TDK 700Mb CD-RW (InfoDisc???), and just in are Maxell CD-R80XL (Acer???).

On the DVD-R side of things, they have TDK DVD-R4.7 @ A$8.99 a piece, Shintaro DVD-R4.7 @ A$2.99 a piece, CONIA DVD-R4.7 @ A$5.99 a piece (ripoff!!!), Verbatim DVD-R4.7 @ A$7.99 a piece, and Panasonic DVD-R4.7 @ A$13.50 a piece.
