Version 4, 0, 3, 5 -- Crash when opening DVD

Hi All,

Whilst trying to make a backup copy of a Train (old stream trains) DVD – DVDFab Crashed during the initial analysing of the disk.

I’ve attached the crash log and included the text here for reference

I’m not too sure why it mentions the SONY drive as the Drive I was using the disc in (to read) is a NEC 1300A and to write too is a NEC 3540A

I do have a SONY CRX320E which is a DVD Rom / CD-RW drive but was not using this at all at the time.

Can anyone shine any light on why this may have crashed as I think it’s realted to the Train DVD as other’s I can backup fine ?

If there’s any other logs or details I can post please let me know but DVD Fab shuts down even before the copy can be started.

Thanks,

Asbac

be sure all drives are empty of any type of disc. open dvdfab and in common settings disable pathplayer.
http://dvdfab.com/docs/index.php/Main/Settings
http://dvdfab.com/docs/index.php/Main/SettingsPathPlayer

then close dvdfab and insert the train dvd and open dvdfab.

you were able to find the dvdfab log, can you post a full burn log containing all the info.
…which can be found at C:\Documents and Settings…username…\My Documents\DVDFab\Log\DVDFab_burn_VSO.log. This is a text file that you can open with Notepad and copy and paste a few recent entries into a reply post.
Try the latest beta (4.0.3.6).

I had the same problem (albeit with a different disc) and this resolved it.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the help – I downloaded the latest Beta - 4.0.4.0 and tried this and it had the same issue of crashing.

I also followed the advise above in the thread and disabled PathPlayer and re-started and this then worked fine.

I’ve attached the logs (I think) after doing the copy with the info. files too, so please let me know if you need anything further.

Best,

Asbac

It’s over to Fengtao on that one.

Might be a minor bug in PathPlayer but Fengtao will know for sure.

your nec 3540a is set as the secondary master so dvdfab should try to read that drive first.

Thanks Wombler & Troy512.

The IFO’s where posted in my previous message – but perhaps not best named as “Logs.ZIP”

I’ll send then to Fentango tonight as I cannot access my Web mail from the machine I’m using.

Thanks,

Asbac
