I wonder how many people (percentage wise) really care that much about “original content” from a movie rental/streaming service. I know I don’t, and I’d subscribe to the Red Box/Verizon service at six bucks a month in a heartbeat.
That works only if DVD aren’t there anymore and not everyone has broad band or access to high speed internet. That is something that is lost on conversation about streaming. I still want the DVD and buy DVD as I am the control and can watch whenever and when I want to even if i don’t have internet access or WiFi hotspots. We need to know not everyone has a computer or internet access at home or have a laptop to go and use where there is free WiFi. Also streaming is at best when using Fiber or cable-shared internet and the more users the slower the stream. That is the big downside of cable to many users streaming and everyone will slow down. But one has to read rebox/verizon fine prints if one wants to quit I can guarantee they will have a high penalty for exiting their program most likely to make up for lost revenue of not using their streaming.
