Verifying your burn is like having an insurance.
The point of both is not that they will do anything useful most of the time, but rather that they will help you when something bad happens. And both have a cost (time or money).
Whether you want to pay the cost (time) of having an insurance (verification) is entirely up to you!
I almost always use verification, except when I'm very pressed for time or when I'm going to use other methods for verifying the burn.
