Problem: I get verification errors, typically only 6-10 bytes on a 4.7Gb disc.
HW: Asus P4B266-E (Newest non-beta bios)
P4 1.8GHz, no OC
2xWD-200 Gb on the first IDE-controller
PX-712A (FW 1.06) master (by jumper pin) on the second IDE-controller
(In addition a Terratec Soundcard and a Terratec TV-tuner)
MB, CPU and RAM is almost 3 years old. HDs and PX is about 6 months old.
CMC.MAG.F01 4x DVD+R (Memorex)
MCC 002 4x DVD+R (Verbatim)
Some of the things I have tried:
- Changing from UDMA 2 to PIO 4 (Multi-word DMA 2) using the jumper on the drive
- Replacing the IDE-cable
- Burning with Nero 184.108.40.206
- Burning with Plextools 2.19a
- Burning speed 2.4X, 4X, 6X, 8X
Nothing seems to matter and the Plextools quality-tests turn out fine.
Burn speed doesn't matter to me. I just want to have error-free burns for my backups!
Any help is greatly appreciated!
