Verbatum DVD+ Data Life Yellowing

[qanda]This thread is about the Verbatim VBTDVRW4X. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]Several of the Verbatum Data Life Plus RW+ media that were silver when I purchased them a couple of years ago are turning yellow on the surface.

Does this mean they are failing or is this normal?

Thanks-

Hi Ted,
do you mean the label side, right?
Yellowing is usual (although undesirable) process and it does not have any impact on data integrity.

Hi,

change of colour is always a sign of degrading media.
If there are data on the disc, backup them as soon as possible.
Don’t use these discs for anything important from now on.
