Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden (DVD+R

Does any one see any differences in these 2 media blanks?
comparing 8x +R…
I’m not sure but the Taiyo appears to be “heavier”?
and so far doesn’t appear to scratch as easy.
I swear my Verbatims seem to develope a light scratch or 2 just putting them in/out of a sleeve or jacket but have had 100% success burning with either…

Are your 8x +R Verbatims Made in Singapore, Taiwan (CMC or Prodisc) or India (MBI)?
Anyway I heard the TYs are easier to scratch, but I haven’t tried scratching them because they’re (especially the older 8x media) so rare and expensive here. They will have higher quality scores after burning but are more sensitive to heat and moisture in accelerated aging tests.

Both are excellent choices. For 16x media, it’s something totally different though :iagree:

Mine are Taiwan…

I think my TY actually scratches a little easier, but it could just as easily be my imagination.

BTW, this belongs in the media forum, not the Plextor Forum…
